Fine Art Photography, Reconociéndose
Price range: $38.00 through $3,300.00
“Reconociéndose” is fine art photography from the Invisible Borders-Lines collection. The collection is a work-in-progress based on the “Out of Africa” theory, in which all human beings share a common DNA and the phenomenon of contemporary migration patterns has defined diversity based on acceptance/non-acceptance of perceived differences.
Description
“Reconociéndose, The Invisible Borders-Lines Collection” is a multi-exposure photograph featuring a projection of a symbolic DNA strand, which I created from necklace beads. It was crafted using the same technique as jewelry threading, with the resulting figure resembling the common image of DNA that everyone recognizes. Because this projection is a close-up of the original slide, the final image blends the concept of DNA with the idea of water—a common element essential for all human life. The color contrast in this image is central to its meaning; it emphasizes life as an explosion or immersion.
